Why are we called 2nd Floor?

Collectively, the 2nd Floor partners have been involved in web, marketing, software and economic development since 1998. Our name evolved from a specialized economic development project in Charleston, SC that focused on marketing and web applications for urban revitalization. By promoting the unique relationships between higher wage workforce development and knowledge-based business sectors, we were able to realize one of the project’s most integral facets - filling the 2nd and 3rd floors of the renovated downtown buildings.

The change occurred as vibrancy once again emerged above struggling retail (or empty) store fronts. Soon, the neighborhoods began to change - retail shops thrived, neighborhoods became safer, and quality of life and culture became another asset the community could market to attract more talent and business.

2nd Floor continues to grow, evolve and improve. That means we have the expertise to help your organization properly leverage the latest web technologies, custom built applications and online marketing strategies that improve lives, communities and bottom-lines.
